About Us

UCAN - Undivided Community Acts Network is a non-profit ministry that operates under The Door Church - 905 W 22nd St Laporte, IN.

Our mission is to provide help to Senior Citizens, Veterans, Individuals with Disabilities, and all those in need in our community by coming together in unity with the support of volunteers, businesses, and organizations to serve our neighborhoods through yard cleanups, basic home maintenance, and other acts of compassion.

At UCAN, we believe in the transformative power of a unified community one that stands together in faith, love, and service. We are a grassroots network of individuals, families, and organizations committed to fostering unity, compassion, and positive change in our neighborhoods, our county, and beyond.

Our goal is simple but powerful: to create an undivided community where every person we serve is valued, supported, and encouraged. Through daily prayer, acts of kindness, and hands-on service, we strive to build bridges of understanding, offer hope to those in need, and work together to address real challenges not with handouts, but with meaningful help that restores dignity and strengthens lives.

our vision

We envision a world where communities are united in love and purpose, where individuals are empowered to make a difference, and where every person feels seen, heard, and cared for. Whether it’s through small acts of kindness, prayer, or collaborative community initiatives, we believe that every step toward unity brings us closer to a future filled with peace, love, and compassion.

UCAN - Undivided Community Acts Network is a non-profit organization ministry that operates under The Door Church in LaPorte, IN. Our mission is to provide help to Senior Citizens, Veterans, Individuals with Disabilities and All Those in Need within our communities by coming together in unity with the support of volunteers, businesses, and organizations. Our efforts focus on yard clean-up, various home maintenance tasks, and other acts of service to uplift and strengthen our community across LaPorte County.

We are guided by the words of Matthew 5:14-16 (KJV): "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Just as a city on a hill shines brightly for all to see, we strive to be a beacon of hope and love in our community, demonstrating the love of Christ through our actions and not just through our words.

We are reminded In Galatians 6:2 (KJV) "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ." At UCAN, we take this to heart, believing that by working together, we can lift the burdens of those in need and create a stronger, more united community. This is the reason we use the word "undivided."

We also draw inspiration from 1 Peter 4:10 (KJV): "As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." Each of us has unique gifts and talents, and by sharing them with one another, we can be good stewards of God's grace and make a positive impact on the lives of those around us.

At UCAN, we welcome everyone to join us in our mission, regardless of their religious beliefs or background. You don't have to be a member of our church or adhere to a specific faith to help. We believe that with God, all things are possible, and by living out His word through our actions, everything comes together. Our focus is on unity, compassion, and service, and we invite you to be a part of this incredible journey.

By joining UCAN, you become part of a community dedicated to fulfilling God's commandments through our collective efforts. Together, we can shine brightly as a city on a hill, lift one another's burdens, and be good stewards of God's grace. Let's unite our efforts and make a lasting impact in the lives of those around us.

Our mission is to serve and uplift our community. Together, we can make a difference and be the light that shines brightly for all to see. Thank you for becoming part of UCAN to help our communities across Laporte County.

Let's make a difference together!

What We Do as a Church

  • We are a vibrant, loving church committed to living out our faith through action. We believe that the church is called to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world, and we strive to make a meaningful impact in our community and beyond. UCAN currently operates under a ministry of The Door Church, committed to living out the Gospel through action and service. Our church is led by Pastor Christopher Tomei whose heart for worship, prayer, and community guides this mission. While UCAN is a faith-driven nonprofit, not a church entity, we are deeply rooted in the spiritual life of The Door Church and walk in unity with its leadership and vision sharing love to the communities.

  • Worship and Prayer

At the heart of everything we do is our relationship with God. We gather regularly to worship, pray, and seek God’s guidance. Through powerful, spirit-filled worship services, Bible studies, and prayer meetings, we draw closer to God and one another, allowing His presence to transform us. Daily, we pray for the needs of our church, our community, and the world.

    Community Outreach and Service

We are committed to serving our community with love and compassion. Whether it's helping the homeless, providing food for those in need, giving a helping hand, or partnering with other organizations, we actively seek opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. Through acts of kindness, we share the love of Christ and help meet the tangible needs of those around us.

    Discipleship and Spiritual Growth

We believe in the importance of spiritual growth and personal transformation. Our church offers various programs and resources for individuals and families to grow in their faith. Through Bible studies, small groups, mentorship, we provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, grow, and deepen their understanding of God's Word. We are dedicated to making disciples who are equipped to live out their faith daily.

    Fellowship and Community Building

We prioritize building relationships and fostering a sense of belonging. We believe that the church is not just a building—it’s a family. Our members support one another through life's joys and challenges, encouraging each other in faith and love. We gather regularly for fellowship, meals, and events that help strengthen the bonds between us and create a warm, welcoming environment for all.

    Evangelism and Outreach

We are passionate about sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the world. Whether through local outreach initiatives, or simply by living out our faith in everyday life, we are committed to spreading the love of God and inviting others into a relationship with Him. We believe that everyone deserves to hear the message of hope and salvation, and we actively work to make that happen.

    Prayer Ministry

Our church is a house of prayer. We believe in the power of prayer to bring healing, peace, and breakthrough. We offer regular prayer services on Mondays and opportunities for personal prayer requests. We believe that through prayer, lives are changed, strongholds are broken, and God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

    Supporting Families and Youth

We place a high value on families and the next generation. Our children’s and youth ministries are designed to nurture the faith of young people, providing them with a solid foundation in Christ. We also offer support and resources to families to help them grow spiritually together and thrive in today’s world.

Why we do it

With Ucan, we understand that a strong community is built on the foundation of love and service. We are driven by a deep commitment to serve others and to create a place where everyone regardless of background, belief, or circumstance can experience the support and belonging they need. We believe that the church is called to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world, and we strive to make a meaningful impact in our community and beyond.  We believe that small acts of kindness can lead to big change, and when we work together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive, and compassionate world.
Thank you for wanting to be part of the Ucan family. Together, we can make a difference one act of love at a time.
